INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN BRIEF

1. Training Context

This project is based on an Assertive Communication training program designed for the organizational context, covering communication fundamentals, assertive communication, practical application, and workplace communication.

For this portfolio project, the existing training content will be analyzed and transformed into interactive e-learning experience designed for leaders and managers.

2. Target Audience

Leaders and managers in corporate environments.

3. Learning Need

Leaders need to strengthen the clarity and assertiveness of their communication to reduce ambiguity in instructions, improve team alignment, and prevent issues caused by misunderstood messages, such as rework, errors, and delays.

4. Learning Objectives

At the end of the learning experience, participants will be able to:

· Identify different communication styles in workplace situations.

· Recognize the characteristics of assertive communication in professional interactions.

· Select appropriate responses to challenging communication situations.

· Reframe unclear or ineffective messages using assertive communication principles.

Scenario-Based Learning

Present realistic workplace situations in which learners analyze a communication challenge, decide, and receive immediate feedback.

Active Learning

Replace part of the content exposition with interaction, reflection, decision-making, and practice.

Practical Application

Connect communication concepts to leadership situations such as giving feedback, providing instructions, managing difficult conversations, and aligning expectations.

Microlearning as Reinforcement

Use short, focused learning assets as a potential reinforcement strategy after the main learning experience, supporting continued practice without adding significant demands to the learner's routine.
